'Oh no not at all' Sasaufe replied 'Kauzka is mostly desert and hot plains, with a few forests around the coastline. There are some mountains along the South-West but its mostly flat. The temperature is not at all like this either, 30 degrees celsius is considered cold for some of the central cities, with 45 being about the high, but in Sanctuarum, Hiask Garden, Messes where I was born and the other coastal cities usually average about 27 with 20 being low and 40 being high. I think this may be only the second or third time I've seen snow, and definitely the most that I've seen' Sasaufe said as she took another bite of the dish. 'Most of the natives of Kauzka, me included are used to the heat and would probably freeze here without air conditioning, but most of the immigrants spend their days in front of a fan if you know what I mean. The nights though are peculiar. It's is a bit of a gamble whether you get a freezing 10 degree one or a hot 40 one, although the cold ones are more common in winter and vice versa' Sasaufe took another bite of the pasta.
Inbetween bites of food the Dras elaborated "Procellia is definitely a different beast then. As a whole we lack a true desert, though a few microclimates do exist. We have everything from cold weather rain forests in the far south to the cold weather of the high mountains. Although I should note that summer blizzards only usually happen once or twice a year. Winters across the continent are pretty harsh though. It's ironically the reason Selene failed at their invasion, our ports freeze up and it takes a dedicated navel fleet to keep trade moving."

'Hmm interesting' Sasaufe said, her plate half empty 'I myself am restructuring the Kauzkan economy to be more trade centered, and I instructed my translator-turned-Councillor Heesish to open up as many trade routes as possible at the Mekselia summit, which brings up another question I had, what are your thoughts on that summit and did you send anyone?' Sasaufe took a large bite of the pasta and waited for his answer.
"Personally I don't put much stock into it" Ishay replied "It sounds like Selene is trying to gain influence over their neighbors, I can only assume they plan on economic domination. That said we did send an envoy because as I've mentioned before we are neutral. But she is little more than a warm body at the meeting. As long as there is blood in my veins I won't allow Selene to have any leverage over my people, and that includes their puppets."

'I agree' Sasaufe said while she continued to eat, the plate almost empty 'I actually instructed Heesish to see if he could get on the other nations good sides, so we have allies in case Selene turns hostile and I'm fairly sure there are some anti-Selene nations out there, so I believe we do have Selene in a bit of a headlock at the moment, by that I mean if they do try to make war or if they push us too much we could make their life hell, you know uniting against a common enemy and the like, I do fear that a lot of the puppet nations would be too cowardly to take up arms against them, I do hear you infiltrated Selene though, how did they respond to that?'
A chuckle escaped the throat of the leader "Tsgt Vemel could you please elaborate on this topic?"

Setting his silverware on his clean plate he replied "Of course my liege"

He turned to address the visiting dignitary "I am sorry to report that it did not go over well. My master sent me and my men to a Principality of Selene as diplomatic envoys, but he detained us and did not even open the gifts we had provided."

Dras Ishay thanked the soldier for his report then added "It wasn't exactly a subtle move on my part, but the fact that I got a small group into the capital of their colony did make my point clear. Sadly, as you'll remember, I am now bound by neutrality laws, so unless directly attacked I can't make use of this leverage."

Sasaufe laughed quietly 'well they do seem to be a shoot first and ask questions later kind of people' then turning to Vemel 'hopefully you taught them a bit of a lesson though' she smiled at him and turned back to the Dras 'but I think I've talked to much, you ask the questions now, what would you like to know?' Sasaufe asked.
"Ah yes they seem to lack self restraint" He agreed

Turning serious Ishay said "What exactly do you wish to gain from this meeting my friend? A building is lovely but you're not a superficial woman, I know you have a deeper objective. Please let me in on your ambitions, I've been very forward with mine"

The blood red eyes of the albino ruler looked into hers as if trying to read her very soul.

Sasaufe's confidence wavered for half a second, but she quickly regained it 'I'd prefer if this was just kept between you and me' she said glancing at Vemel.

Dras Ishay sighed "Although I trust my men with my life I will oblige. TSgt please leave us to discuss business, you're free for the next hour"

Bowing deeply he left, taking the other guards with him.
