"Sadly our country wasn't tribal. The first theocratic war united the continent, and led to the genocide of anyone that didn't convert to Demonism. From that point on civil war was our way of fighting oppression"

He gestured at the parade below "Even having a democracy for two thousand years didn't end the cycle. It took the outright elimination of a ruling class and maturity voting to get this country to stop fighting. Even now we fight, but in the voting booth. What does your country think of our socialist democracy? I know some find our system to be evil."

'I haven't asked the opinion of the Kioko but my personal opinion is that, much like communism, it seems good in theory but worse in practice. In Kauzka the Kioko accept that some decisions they cannot make for themselves and should be up to more knowledgeable people, which is why the council chooses most small things. Big things like laws and the like are usually put out to a public vote, with the law being passed based on majority. Other decisions are made by the council in a similar fashion, with each councillor getting one vote each, although the High Councillors vote counts as two. High Councillors are usually very competent and experienced, as they are elected by the existing council, while individual councillors are elected by the public every 5 years, with the entire council, excluding the High Councillor, being subject to vote. This means that the High Councillor gets at least two terms, but usually has more. There is no maximum number of terms for normal councillors, but High Councillors can only be High Councillors for a maximum of 3 terms, after which they have to step down and become regular councillors. I myself am on my first term 2nd year so I have at least 3 more years in power. I don't think Socialism is evil, I just think that some decisions have to be made for people' Sasaufe replied.

Again the Dras gestured at the parade and cheering crowds "We fully agree that some decisions should be for the people. That's why we have The People's Assembly and the royalty, because the average citizen doesn't have the time and knowledge to study grain production and growth patterns in the Procellian Tundra. Socialism isn't about elimination of a governing class, that's Communism, it's about ensuring citizens are fairly treated. That's why every five years every man and woman in the Empire votes for their representative and anyone can run. It's why the pay of officials is based off of the average income in Procellia and why my power is only what the Assembly is willing to grant"

Despite the seriousness of the topic, the man almost sounded passive about it. As if he were talking about the best type of pie, instead of one of the most complicated governing systems in the world "Besides, isn't it worth a drop in productivity to have your people living comfortable and happy lives? That's what socialism is to me, putting the happiness, freedom and well being of the citizens before all else."

'I heard that the Sol Federation was announcing their new government, Sorism I think it was'

"I heard the same this morning" Ishay replied "I can't say that I agree with them. It is the antithesis of Procellian values, but I don't see any point in making a fuss about it."

'Heesish, my second, replied to it in my stead. His words pretty much reflected on my views of it' Sasaufe replied 'although I see where they are coming from, in terms of increasing productivity and the like, I disagree with the method. It, to me, sounds like a dictatorship that encourages capitalism, in other words probably the worst government I could think of, not saying that some capitalism is bad but that it shouldn't be allowed to get out of hand like it undoubtedly will with Sorism in place'
"Capitalism is great at creating wealth" He admitted reluctantly "but it is not as efficient as you believe. Having so many companies means that multiple groups will be researching the same thing, splitting the money that would be better spent on a united effort. I've also heard of the disposable and cheaply made goods found at western malls. Yes there is more selection but it's all poor quality and made paying laborers as little as possible. Not to mention the poverty of those who are disabled or disadvantaged."

'I agree, there is little capitalism in Kauzka but what there is, is just a few companies that produce quality goods, albeit with minimum wage for the employee's that haven't been replaced with robots. Robots haven't affected employment rates though, as Kauzka offered free, or very low cost, university so most people have a good education' she replied
The Dras thought over Sasaufe's statement carefully, as he pretended to watch the rest of the parade

"Prime Minister" he finally said, talking loudly to be heard over the music "Our neutrality laws don't prevent trade preferential treatment do they?"

Looking as if he hated himself for answering the official replied "No your holiness. They only prevent formal alliances and interventionism in conflicts."

"Good" the demon King said before turning back to Sasaufe "regardless of what you call your system to me it sounds like a form of socialism; and I think we can offer better trade terms to our comrades than we had negotiated before. What say you my friend?"

Sasaufe smiled 'I greatly appreciate it' she replied.
