Oscad, Karkara Civil War Again!

#41

The Drewish fleet has attacked the Oscadan fleet at Corala. The attack, codenamed Operation Dynamo, was a surprise attack made up of a large force of aerial bombers, followed by a direct assault by elements of the Drewish Navy. The attack occurred when the second and third wave fleets rendezvoused with a force of ships that split off from the main fleet that was moving towards Lower East Tarrolf. The combined fleet, dubbed "Delta Fleet" by Drewish command, consists of three aircraft carriers, as well as roughly twenty other warships. Transports assigned to the group hold the combined forces held on the second and third wave fleets, as well as some troops that were part of the primary fleet. Combined, it holds 85,000 troops, leaving 45,000 troops with the primary fleet.

Operation Dynamo began with a force of 400 bombers attacking the Oscadan fleet. These bombers were launched from the carriers, with support from the Drewish home islands. These bombers did heavy damage to the defenders, who were caught off guard. After the bomber wave attacked and heavily injured the fleet, the rest of Delta Fleet's warships attacked the Oscadans, taking advantage of the confusion created by the bombers. These ships finished off all defenders not destroyed by the bomber attack. Due to the surprise of the attack (which was created since the primary fleet appeared to be aggressively attacking Lower East Tarrolf, not Corala) Drewish losses were light compared to the heavy losses suffered by the Oscadans. With the fleet destroyed, the Drewish Empire has deposited 25,000 troops onto the island of Corala, who are battling the Oscadans for control of the island as we speak. Naval intelligence believes that the attack has crippled the Oscadan East Fleet, and will lead to a significant decrease in defensive naval capabilities for the nation.

Some anti-sea turrets responded to the attack but only a few had been built. Oscad calls for any non-engaged troops to move to Corala, but to leave a minimum of 1,000 troops in small towns and cities and 5,000 in larger cities. Lower East Tarrolf is doubling the construction of anti-air and sea turrets and the remaining Oscadan fleet is closing in on the Drewish navy moving towards Lower East Tarrolf. They number about 300 with 200 being small fighter boats, 50 being larger boats with infantry units and many large turrets, about 30 submarines who's job it will be to engage the Drewish fleet from behind so that they will be fighting two, or three if they reach Lower East Tarrolf, fronts and whom have been told to go for larger boats such as aircraft carriers and destroyers, there is also 2 aircraft carriers and the rest consists of miscellaneous militia.

As the battle for Corala continues, the Drewish troops have momentum on their side, since they are supported by heavy naval and bomber support from Delta Fleet. The entire southern half of the island has quickly fallen, but Oscadan troops have entrenched themselves at the island's main city. A siege of the city is underway, and is expected to take several hours.

In other news, the strategist who planned and successfully executed Operation Dynamo, Admiral Arthur Wellman, has been promoted to Supreme-Commandant of the Navy, giving him a higher rank than any other Drewish military member. His military brilliance is expected to come in handy in battles to come.

After a long and bloody battle, Drewish forces have successfully seized the island of Corala. Their victory was mostly due to the fact that the defending Oscadans received little or no bomber or naval support because of Operation Dynamo. However, the battle was very bloody, with 8,000 casualties on the Drewish side. This leaves 17,000 Drewish troops occupying the island. Following the victory, Imperial Command has sent several waves of bombers and fighters to land on Corala. Local civilian and military airports are being converted to hold Imperial aircraft as we speak. In order to hold the island, Arthur Wellman has ordered anti-sea and anti-aircraft turrets to be constructed along the island's coast.

Fornirian forces have arrived at Oscad, with 15,000 troops invading Corala and the remaining 85,000 arriving through southern Oscad. The Fornirian Air Force and the Navy, with 60 warships, will assist in Operations Red Star and Coral Reef.

(CLASSIFIED: Red Star wants to cut off any Drewish forces from the rest of the main island and annihilate them with 85,000 troops, with some 50,000 as possible future reinforcements if the situation worsens, whilist Coral Reef aims to conquer Coral. You know about this ICly, you're metagaming, and I will complain)

Catherine, Kingdom of Fornoire

The new Prime Minister, Venuse Petage, wanted to deal with the least possible number of enemies as possible in this war. His aim was to eliminate an enemy in the battlefield.

The Solteks.

He picked up the phone, and began to speak:

"Greetings, Mr. Yutan. How are you? I would like discuss a non-aggression deal with you in the war, at least for our main countries"

"It's simple. We don't attack our respective countries, and maybe we can negotiate a non-aggression deal in Oscad. Can we at least agree to hear each other's arguments and reach a deal?"

He waited for Yutan's answer. He was not optimistic that he would achieve all of his goals, but Petage was confident that he would accomplish that the Solteks would not invade Fornirian land, as it would be harmful for both countries to invade each other, and it would be a lose-lose situation.

(OOC: I thought in your first post you left forniore with 15 warships. But you arrived with 60?)

#48

OOC: I increased the number of ships. 15 would be too low

In response to the 15,000 Fornoire troops invading Corala, Delta Fleet has unloaded 25,000 more of its troops onto the island, and is using air support from the carriers, the island, and the home islands too annihilate the invaders as quickly as possible. While it is still unconfirmed, there are rumors of assembling a fourth fleet wave to send to Oscadan waters.

In Neptunia, the siege has trudged on. Slowly but surly, the imperial forces push further and further in. Reinforcements have finally arrived and more tanks rush through to help the fighting. A large non nuclear ballistic missile is fired from a silo in Genua into the city center. As the dust settles, soldiers from either side move in and slaugter each other in the crater. In the sea between the countries, the chosen fleet attacks the Soltek navy. It's a tooth and nail battle, with every ship hit on one side, another is hit on the opposite fleet. 800 righteous fighter planes scream down on the enemy and cause damage wherever they can. Cassius is considering a non-agression pact with the Drewish Empire, in the same way that Fornoire is considering one with The Sol Federation.
