Mixed Foreign Response to Unrest in Fornoire
Byzantium. Responses to the ongoing unrest in Fornoire have been mixed. While some countries have denounced the military and called for the restoration of the government, others have praised it or opted to remain neutral for the time being.
Soltek leader Edward Yutan was the first to express his opinion on the events in Fornoire, when he praised the military this afternoon, calling it “the true elite of Fornoire” and expressing the belief that it should control the country.
In turn, Sartoria issued a statement this evening condemning the actions of the military and expressing its full support for the government. While the statement used diplomatic language, it did hint at the possibility of armed intervention, should the military not submit itself to the authority of what was called “the legitimate authority” of the Fornirian Government.
While participating in the inaugural ceremony of the Marcus IV Centre for International Studies, Foreign Minister Passolides said that, while the situation in Fornoire was concerning, Selene would not interfere in the internal affairs of a sovereign nation, and expressed the hope that Fornoire would do right by its people.
