The Fornirian and Hanoverian governments have disputed the succession to the throne. Fornoire argues that it should be the chosen Crown Prince, as per the succession code of the royal family, but Hanover has said that Hanoverian law indicates an inherited monarchy, thus any Crown Prince the King chooses is invalid for the Hanoverian throne. Fornirian Crown Prince Peter (the King's cousin) and Hanover's chosen successor, the Hanoverian Crown Princess Elisabeta (the King's sister) are the candidates to the Hanoverian throne.

Fornirian border guards have prevented protesters from crossing the border, threatening to non-lethally shoot any they catch.

Fornoire's new Conservative minority government has begun drafting a plan for the fiscal year, which includes massive tax cuts and cuts on spending in order to "fix the abhorrent deficit and colossal taxes created by the previous administration".
