[AFTER THE GREAT MEETING][IC]Fornirian Revolution

#1

Catherine, Kingdom of Fornoire/Katerina, Jinaduom Fornoire

After the trip from Procellia, the King, Willihiam III, prepared for a speech. It was going to be historic, and it would send Fornoire into an uncharted path. A path never explored by Fornoire...

"My people!" said Willihiam by a televised speech "Today, I have the bravery and courage to tell you this..."

"THE REFORMS ARE A LIE!"

This astonished many in their houses, and the elite was shocked.

"For too long, I have seen my people suffer! Centuries of abuse from the aristocracy, it brought a tear to my eye when I was aware of the situation... The Famine of 2004 caused by terrible economic policies, the Communist Revolutions that lasted years because of the abuse, the Massacre of Turading University in 1976, and many abuses before that in our history..."

"I cannot let my people suffer any longer..."

"I will tell you the purest truth, fellow Fornirians: I do not have enough power to deliver justice in this Kingdom. I wish it to be so, but I cannot"

"...But you can"

"My people, help us end this tyranny! Revolt in the streets! Take the rich elite out!"

Suddently, soldiers appear and try to grab Willihiam. The Royal Guard struggles to fight them, but can't against military-grade soldiers. While being arrested, Willihiam screams

"Do not be afraid! You are strong! Be strong, do not be afraid!"

The people watched in horror as the King was suddently stabbed by the soldiers. In his pain, however, he still spoke

"Be strong, never be afraid..."

"Never...be...afraid..."

The King was taken out and sent to a hospital

The Next Morning...

The people awoke to a new King, Kladius IV, and to a Transitional Government composed of powerful people. In a televised speech, Kladius spoke, flanked by them. He was being forced to speak against his brother, whom he loved so much...

"Fornirians...I must explain...something"

"Willihiam III...is dead"

This was a lie, in order to legitimise Kladius. He was still in recovery from the stabbing. However this was intentional not only to make Kladius the monarch, but to make people lose hope

They were wrong

"A new Transitional Government...will share power with m-me...to help re-recover our nation..."

In tears, Kladius was still forced

"Sniff...Our country...our country..."

"Will be ruined by them"

"My brother is alive! He is alive and well! I will not LIE!"

A commotion occured. The new Transitional Government that flanked Kladius took him out, and arrested him, live on TV. They spoke

"Resistance is futile. Rebel, and you will die"

That afternoon, in Catherine...

A crowd of 50,000 showed up to the palace to demand the release of Willihiam and Kladius. They protested the Transitional Government. They chanted "Down with the tyrants!", "Release them!" and "Democracy!"

Things went wrong

A group of 1,200 soldiers began shooting the protesters. Many suffered death or injury. As they tried to run from the soldiers, helicopters gunned the protesters down, leaving many dead or injured. Catherine, a pristine city known for its peacefulness and modernity, bathed in a river of blood that afternoon

Fornoire was in trouble

#2

Cardinal O'Cronin had retreated to Sanctus Domum, the Ruling Cardinal's residence in St. Christopher's. He started his evening prayers by the open windows. The cool evening air relaxed him and put him into a meditative state.
This tranquility did not last long...
"Your Eminence..."

It was Archbishop Unferold, Secretary of Foreign Relations.

"Yes, Thaddeus?"

"I have urgent news from Fornoire, sir. Willihiam has been stabbed and Kladius arrested. This occurred after urging revolution" said Archbishop Unferold.

The Cardinal bowed his head and then placed it in his hands.

"Your Eminence, there's more..."

"Go on".

"Cardinal, protesters were killed by the transitional government. Many were killed while fleeing the soldiers. It was a massacre".

Cardinal O'Cronin remained kneeling and said a few prayers. Upon standing he grabbed a few files on the small desk next to the prayer bench. He looked up at the Archbishop with tears in his eyes.

"The senseless killing of innocents must never go unnoticed. If possible, send a message to the Royal family and offer them refuge here. If accessibility seems difficult, send Father Peters in. We recruited him for a reason. Also, I want asylum seekers to be offered temporary residency in Pontilear. I will not have another massacre on my watch!"

Archbishop Unferold began sending messages to every branch within Pontilear with the Cardinal's message.

Cardinal O'Cronin then issued a National Day of Prayer and Fasting for Fornoire.

Catherine, Fornoire

"Hurry, hurry!"

The real King, Willihiam III, was still in recovery. He was unable to move, so the part of his family that agreed with him took whatever military resources they had and stormed the Hospital. Taking the Hospital, they evacuated the King in a helicopter

"How is he?" said a cousin of his, Duchess Karena of Vilisorod

"He's fine, he'll survive until we get to the airport" stated the Royal Doctor

Meanwhile, they also stormed the Palace, where Kladius was being held, along with other family members. Taking all military resources they could, they fled to Pontilear with 7 helicopters, 2 naval ships, 100 soldiers, 3 fighter jets, 4 tanks and the Royal Family's private jet

Siyaliani, Central Fornoire

In this village, a revolt occured, and the rebels successfully captured the town. They sent rebels to incite revolution in nearby settlements, and begin the Fornirian Revolution

Cardinal O'Cronin greets the Royal Family upon their arrival in St. Christopher's. He stations the Legiones along with Fornoire's military at the Northern most point of Pontilear, Port of Grace, if military action is required. He offers the Royal Family refuge with him in Sanctus Domum.
Cardinal O'Cronin insists on blessing each member of the Royal family and their military. A celebratory mass will be held for their successful escape from the tyrannical coupe in their homeland. His Eminence also prayers for those still remaining.
An entire wing of St. Stephen's Hospital is dedicated to the care of Willihiam III.
Security is increased throughout Pontilear. His Eminence takes Archbishop Unferold into his study for strict instructions.

"I want a group of our finest agents to infiltrate the Fornoire Transitional Government. I want as much information as possible before moving forward. Surely, our neighbors will ally with Fornoire. Also, I want Archbishop Wallovsky to personally attend to Willihiam and the Royal Family. Not only do I want the best pastoral care for them in this distressing time but they need a lenient ear as well".

Archbishop Unferold finished writing and sighed looking down at his paper.

"What is it my son?"

"Can we trust them Your Eminence? We have had no dealings with Fornoire. How do know that they won't try to secularize us and make us fold under international pressure? We have been governing ourselves for years..."

Cardinal O'Cronin placed a hand on Unferold's shoulder to stop him.

"Are we not Christians? Should we not be apart of the world? Do not fear your neighbor Thaddeus. This isn't the old Pontilear. I will not close this nation off. Our neighbors suffered greatly and reached out our arm. Something we should have been doing for years. We are a Catholic nation and will continue to be. Our people are strong in their faith. Do not fear what you do not know".

With that Cardinal O'Cronin went to his bench to pray and Archbishop Unferold left the Cardinal uneasy.

St. Christopher's, Pontilear/Sn. Karisotofer'es, Ponitilear

"We're here" said Kladius

"Why did you ever think of coming here? We are protestant and secular!" said Duke Karolos of Yasinia

"Some of us are Catholic. Besides, we don't have to mention religion nor talk about secularism. I'm sure they'll respect us if we respect them" said the leader of the escape, Prince Yosef, brother of Willihiam and Kladius "And do you have any idea where we would go after the Transitional Government is persecuting us?! We are lucky that Pontilear offered us refuge! Now, be grateful, and don't even think about stereotypes about Catholics"

"I just hope we return to Fornoire and that Willihiam recovers. Or else, we'll be stuck here, and we'll never get to Catherine" said Karolos

"We'll return. I assure you. No tyrannical government can stand forever. Now, me and Kladius need to go to the Cardinal O'Cronin to thank him"

Yosef and Kladius went in representation of the part of the Royal Family that escaped to Pontilear. They wanted to thank him, and they wanted to talk about the Royal Family's religion if it was an issue. If it was not possible to talk to him, then they would leave a note instead, saying that they were thankful, and that they hoped that religion wasn't an issue

Meanwhile, in Catherine...

The new Transitional Government, who's new Lord was Lord Damius of Parislei, an influential person in noble society. Immediately, he crowned Prince Marukus, whom was a brother of Willihiam, Kladius and Yosef, as the new King of Fornoire

Marukus was on the Transitional Government's side, and he co-operated with them. He knew that he was not doing the right thing, but he was a greedy, power-hungry soul. At long last, Marukus had the power he always wished: being King

He signed Order 75, an order that would not only persecute suspected rebels and and supporters of them without fair trial, but they would also be executed if they were found guilty

At the day of the signing, about 75 people were found to be rebels or supporters of them. They took the convicts to Catherine, where Marukus was waiting to personally execute them all

He executed them all. He burned some of them, he shot some of them, he stabbed some of them, and tortured the rest until they died of the pain. This massacre will be known globally as the MC-75(M for massacre, C for Catherine, 75 for the 75 people killed), and it was the bloodiest massacres done by one, single person in Fornoire. The previous holder of the title, the 2008 Catherine Plaza Terrorist Attacks, only had 43 dead, and was done by a radical communist

The world watched as Fornoire burned itself from within

#6

Cardinal O'Cronin gingerly arose from his prayer bench. His aches seem to increase when under increased stress. He made his way to his desk to issue orders regarding intelligence within Fornoire and also Pontilear.
A knock came at the door. The Cardinal's secretary, Sister Ignatius, entered. She has been his secretary since his first appointment as Bishop of Wallachia. She was fiercely loyal to him and he protective of her.

"Yes, Sister?"

"Their Royal Highneses Kladius and Yosef to see you."

"Please, send them in".

The Cardinal greeted Their Royal Highnesses and had Sister Ignatius serve wine from one of Pontilear's numerous vineyards. They addressed their concerns pertaining to religion and thank him for his generosity.

The Cardinal finished his glass and addressed the Royals.

"I assure you, you have nothing to fear. You are as strong in your faith, as I am in mine. My hand was not offered in order to convert you, it was offered out of neighborly concern and Christian, not merely Catholic, love.
We are at your disposal. There is a small chapel currently unused South of Sanctus Domum in the middle of a small square. I offer you this for your worship services while you are here.
As for the conflict in Fornoire, I wish to work closely with you in order to bring resolution. I heard of MC-75, God help the people of Catherine and Fornoire. As I stated before, I will not tolerate the massacre of innocents.
You need only ask and help will be given to you and the people of Fornoire. For now, pray for your citizens. I am issuing another day of prayer and fasting for Fornoire.
Go in peace and may God guide you in mind and soul".

The Cardinal prayed over Their Highnesses and each uttered pleasantries in their departure.

Catherine, Kingdom of Fornoire

BOOOOOM!

A bombing in Catherine's Financial Ministry occured

BLAST! BOOM! BLAM! KABOOM!

A series of bombings in elite neighborhoods and governmental offices also occured, including at the local barracks

Protests and riots soon followed against the Government. They declared that they were part of the rebellion, and many supporters soon followed. Angered at the tyranny of the elite, the mob burned elite neighborhoods, and lynched aristocrats fleeing from their houses. Many survived, but were held captive. It all seemed calculated, and soldiers were called to quell the unrest

At the barracks, many soldiers, being convinced of the protesters, mutined, and sided with the rebellion. They shot the few riot police and soldiers defending the Government, and they armed rioters

"Damn it all!" said Marukus "Get the helicopter, and flee to Edwardtown!"

"S-sir..." said the servant

"What?!"

"Th-there's a riot in Edwardtown..."

"WHAT?!"

Edwardtown also suffered from an angry, angry riot. The situation was similar in there: bombings of the elite, riots and defections, lynching of the aristocracy, grand turmoil...even the Mayor was killed in the unrest

The riots were ongoing in many places. It all seemed so calculated, yet it was not an unpopular event, as the riots gained the support of many residents...

"Fine, flee to Yauren! The people at that island have always been afraid of the Royal Forces, so there will be little to no opposition. SET COURSE FOR YAUREN, MEN!"

"Y-yes, sir"

The Government fled to Yauren, to Leolian Island. It was inhabited by the national minority Kanatanis(Cantonese) people, native to the island. They had always been afraid of Fornoire, as good, loyal sheep

Yet, a visit to Leolian was coming. A fiery visit...

Pontilear

"I'm going" said Willihiam

"What?! You're still in recovery!" said many in his family

"I must. Even if wounded, a true patriot fights on..."

Procellia City, The Capital Territory, The Empire of Procellia
----------------------------------------

A loud pounding on the door awoke the Dras from his nap. The king had been reading a book in his chambers, reclined in a large window seat over looking the city below, when he'd drifted off to sleep.

Still groggy he replied "Come in!" Silently he cussed at being disturbed, just once he'd like to be able to relax for a whole day without someone banging on the old walnut door.

"Your majesty I'm sorry to disturb you but this really couldn't wait" said the man who entered, he appeared to be a member of the assembly judging by his blue robes.

"It's fine. To what do I owe the pleasure of this visit?"

"It's Forenoir sir"

"What about it?" He said, hiding his worry. Did they go back on their trade deal?

"We just got word that revolution has broken out across their nation. The royals fled to Pontilier"

Ishay's eyes opened widely as he processed the news. But they narrowed slightly as he thought

"And why, pray tell, are you the one telling me this?" He asked, not rudely but with some suspicion

"Our intelligence says it is a socialist revolution, and as they head of the Socialist Party I feel entitled to advise you on this"

The demon King stood and stretched for a moment, working the kinks out of his muscles.

"Fair enough" he said, now close enough to read his name tag, which included his title

"Your majesty" the MP said formally "I officially request that we offer support for the pro socialist rebels in Forenoir."

"You know that'll be a hard sales pitch to the nation, don't you?"

"Yes, but this could be a critical opportunity to gain influence and power on the mainland. Not to mention I feel as good socialists we are obligated to help our fellow brothers and sisters"

Ishay sighed and sat back down, deep in thought. He knew that this was indeed a rare chance to gain influence with a large country, but it could also back fire. Not to mention if the socialists lost then all they'd have gained is upsetting other nations nearby. Then there are concerns about it turning into a full blown war. Finally the demon King looked the representative straight in the eyes

"Have you spoken to the Prime Minister?"

"Yes, he sent me to you."

"Fine, I'll take that as his blessing on my judgement. If you can get the citizens of that country, or their king to request our help officially and publicly then you can have your wish"

"Thank you your majesty, you are too kind" he said, obviously pleased at just how easy things had gone. He then dismissed himself to go handle his side of the deal.

As soon as the door closed a figure emerged from the shadows, where Cal-ri had been standing silently.

"You're playing a dangerous game your grace" he scorned

"I'm fully aware"

"Tread carefully. Revolution rarely confines it's self to borders"

"That's what I'm banking on."
------------

Dear Your Majesty,

King Willihiam,

My name is Be-me, and I am the head of the Procellian Socialist Party. First, permit me to express my condolences for your nation's current situation.

As a socialist I understand the frustrations faced by the proletariat better than most, and this is why I am writing. Your people are calling out for democracy and liberal values, and I wish to help. His Majesty and the Prime Minister are also sympathetic to your plight.

To simplify a complicated situation I have been told that if you officially express support for socialism and request Procellia's support we will gladly help. But it must appear that you asked for our help, without our solicitation. Thank you.

Comrade Be-me
Member of the Assembly
Head of the socialist Party

Prince Yosef

With much respect,

First of all, I am Prince Yosef. His majesty, King Willihiam, is on Fornoire advocating revolution. I will not tell you which part of Fornoire, but I assure you, it's a place that needs my brother's presence.

Greetings Mr. Be-me. We appreciate your support, but I believe we cannot. This is not a socialist revolution. Rather, this is a pluralistic revolution. Sure, socialists and communists are involved, but so are capitalists, social democrats, liberals, nationalists, conservatives, libertarians, and the like.

We only have one goal: a multi-party, free democracy, where every political group can express their opinions freely. In one word, we want freedom.

We cannot officially make this a socialist-led revolution. Not everyone in our effort for freedom is a socialist. For example, I am a social democrat. My brother, Willihiam, is a capitalist.

We are sorry. You can support our socialist factions, but please, don't tear our nation apart. For this is a revolution for everyone. A pluralist, big tent revolution.

With respect,

His Highness, Prince Yosef of the Kingdom of Fornoire

Procellia City, Procellia
-------------------------------------

Minister Be-me read and reread the letter four times, each time hoping it would say something different. He was a strange type in Procellia, one of the few who supported the idea of interventionism. Taking his copy of the letter, for other copies had already been sent to the Prime Minister and the Dras, he ripped it apart in frustration.

It had all seemed so perfect, a rare chance to posture the nation on the offensive. Socialism was one of the cements that held the Empire together, and it would have been a great way to unite the nation even more.

Alas it seemed not to be, for there was no way now he could convince the Dras and the People's Assembly to endorse a side. The whole affair had been secret, and so if he even tries to bring it to the floor it would be rejected as lies and he could easily be demoted for defamation.

-----------

"Hmm looks like we won't be getting involved after all" His Majesty said as he read the letter outside in the courtyard

"Indeed" agreed his advisor "It's for the best, we don't really have any experience in this area anyway"

With a few quick movements he took the letter and shredded it, tossing the little pieces into a small pond.

"As long as we are allowed to trade, I don't care who rules them" Ishay said with finality

Grabbing some paper and a fountain pen from the bag he had brought out with him, he quickly wrote down a letter then asked Cal-ri to send it the the Prime Minister.

-----

Dear Good Prime Minister,

I wish you to propose the following law to the floor with my endorsement; The Empire of Procellia is officially and eternally rendered neutral. Although individuals may express their opinions on international matters, no official government action can be taken to purposely support one side over the other. We may only declare war in such an instance where war has been declared on Procellia, or one of its Vassals.

His Majesty Dras Ishay
