The Drakos International - Qastari National News

#4

Article from the Drakos International, October 4th, 2017

Workers in Qastari, as of Tuesday, are back to work after the referendum that took place the previous day. This Monday was a burning, cle3ar day throughout most of the country that brought with it an above expected voter turnout. Initial reports suggest about 80% of eligible voters turned out between mail, online systems, and traditional ballots, with the events of the day proceeding with relatively little incident.

While the people were on about their business, People's Assemblies across the country began with the initial stages of the October Congress in whatever capacities were currently possible. While national reviews have reported little out of the ordinary, thus far, int he last two days the People's Assembly has moved forward several previously planned initiatives. Among these include subjects from final approvals for the Qastari International Sports Ministry, which plans to begin several first time events this month, to minor workplace regulation improvements hashed out Tuesday in conjunction with Internal Trade Ministry and Union officials.

Meanwhile, the counting of referendum voted started this morning and is expected to last the remainder of the day in order to ascertain at the least a clear voter plurality. While initial exist polling suggested a high chance for the Premier Referendum to pass, several local issues were periodically voted on ass well, mostly speaking of the usual recalls and replacements of local Assembly members. While pure speculation, it is expected that among yes referendum voters, local People's Assembly recalls may be done along the lines of who they would favor should there be a Premier reelection and vote for the newly created President of the Presidium next week in the National People's Assembly.
