Office of the Privy Councillor for Foreign Affairs
Councillor Marelli met today with Councillor for External Affairs Nurullah Ali of the Alssahran Empire to sign three agreements on areas identified as having key importance to the integration effort held within the framework of the Sartoria-Alssahra Coordination Committee. Councillors Marelli and Ali agree that the officials assigned to the Coordination Committee should receive the appreciation of both governments for their diligent work towards the signature of the following agreements:
Agreement on the Suppression of Visa Requirements
An agreement to suppress the requirement for visas for nationals of either signatory country seeking to travel to the other on account of tourism, general business and health for a maximum stay of 180 days.
Agreement on the Exchange of Customs Policies and Tools
An agreement to provide for the continued exchange and uniformisation of policies with regards to customs procedures with the aim of providing a common framework to ease the conduction of trade between the signatory countries and between them and other countries.
Agreement on the Promotion of Educational and Cultural Opportunities
An agreement to treat students from either signatory country seeking an education in the other as a national of the same and to facilitate the exchange of cultural and educational opportunities between the signatory countries and jointly in other countries.
In addition to the signing of the aforementioned agreements, Councillor Marelli conveyed to Councillor Ali the intention of First Councillor Valerio and the Privy Council to simplify the procedure to obtain work visas for nationals of Alssahra, consistent with the spirit of open exchange and movement behind the three agreements. It is the hope of the Privy Council that further integration between Sartoria and Alssahra will follow.
