The first engagement of Operation Psellus occurred early on the morning of the 9th of April, when a Proclusite platoon of some 1,000 soldiers and a few AFVs ambushed a disorganised Michelite force just south of Elaza. The Proclusite soldiers were outnumbered almost 3-to-1, but with superior discipline, organisation and the element of surprise, they triumphed on the battlefield. Battle of Elaza
