The following thread post describes the province of Nordus as well as the Freeman's Stalwart Party.
NORDUS
Nordus is a large province located along the Northern border of Lopolia. It is the center of the nation's mining industry. Very few of its citizens are college educated, mostly because almost everyone living there works in the mines for their whole life. The province has a distinct culture, different from the rest of Lopolia. Two main races make up the province. One is the white race, who make up the majority. The main minority is the Askellians, a race from a country North of Lopolia. In the last century, Askellians have begun migrating to Nordus in massive numbers. This has produced competition between natives and foreigners for blue collar jobs in the mines. Due to increased competition, Nordan natives have become incredibly hateful towards Askellians. The Province's racism has become notorious throughout Lopolia. Fifty years ago, Nordus enacted the Steadfast Accords, which were a series of laws that targeted Askellians, and segregated them from natives. It also restricted the ways in which the immigrants could get jobs in the province, which plunged many Askellian families into poverty. In the last 10 years however, the Lopolian Federal Government ruled the Steadfast Accords unjust, and removed most of the laws imposed by them. This action was met with heavy resentment from the Nordan natives, who claim it is an infringement upon their provincial rights. Following the Federal repeal, which locals refer to as "The Betrayal", a strong separatist movement has developed among the Nordan populace. Some Nordan separatist turned to domestic terrorism to impose their beliefs. The main group doing so is
The Knights of Freedom, which is estimated to have over 5,000 followers. The group recently detonated a deadly car bomb in the Lopolian capital, killing 46 people. The Nordan Separatist movement still dominates the politics of the province, and of Northern Lopolia as a whole.
FREEMAN'S STALWART PARTY
The FPS was founded in Nordus by Dimitri Calazanov following the Steadfast Accords. The party publically supported the Accords, and gained support from almost all of Nordus. To this day the FPS receives more than 85% of the votes in Nordus, and crushes every other party in the province. However, the party does not score well with outside provinces. The party supports right wing politics, and the Steadfast Accords. Members also supports the separatist movement. The FPS has also been accused of supporting The Knights of Freedom, but no evidence has been found to support this theory. The party's founder, Dimitri Calazanov, receives almost godlike support from natives. The party supports a small federal government, and strong provincial ruling.
