[IC] An Official Visit

#1

Royal Air Force Foreign Eagle
4:30PM

"Madam Councillor, we are making our approach to land on Extrithica."

Grazia Marelli woke up, initially disoriented, but quickly remembered what was happening, and nodded in thanks to the aid who was standing next to her. "Thanks Enrico. I'll be getting ready." She stood, walked to a nearby seat and fastened her seatbelt, looking out the window into a bleak sky, hoping the visit would be better than what the sky seemed to foretell. It was a last minute trip, having come up a few days ago. She had just finished a meeting with her Council of Advisors when she received a notice that she was expected to represent Sartoria at an official visit to some country northeast of Selene...Nonfreesonia was it? It seems they were making their way out of isolation, and were approaching several nations to establish ties. That was awesome, but why did she have to be the one to make the trip? Not that it mattered at this point. She had a job to do, and would do it to the best of her ability.

She felt the touchdown on the runway of the National Airport, managing to overlook a huge formation of buildings further way, probably the skyline of Extrithica. It was truly massive, moreso than what the brief she read had implied. She saw a delegation over to the side, waiting for the plane to make a complete stop and for her to walk down the stairs. She readied her papers, until the captain turned off the seatbelt sign and she stood up again, talking with some advisors until the front door was opened. She looked out through the open door, took a deep breath and started walking down the stairs.

Standing at the base of her stairs on the tarmac what's the size of a group of delegates. Flanking the delegation to both sides was orderly lines of soldiers dressed in what appeared to be decorative and ceremonial uniforms as opposed to actual combat fatigue. This was given away by their tight black jackets with the right breast area covered in metals and pins on every one of them. They also wore tight black pants and we'll shine military boots. They also were small baseball cap that match the color of the rest of their uniform. In between the two lines of of the obvious honor guard studer group of men and women in suits tuxedos dresses. All except for one. The woman in the middle wore a clean white jacket with white pants and an elaborate white military cap. The area above her left breast was notably covered in metals hand combat ribbons. Her shoulders or decorated with gold and stars. Her old face looked up at The Ambassador. She must be at least in her late sixties buy her look. The position of the center of the delegation as well as her obvious military uniform gave away that this woman must be Admiral Victoria Silver's the woman she was meant to meet. The Admiral raised her arm and the honor guard pointed their guns into the sky before firing into the sky
" welcome to Extrithica " the old Admiral replied out removing her hat and holding it to her side before walking up to the end of the tarmac and extending her hand with a delegate to shake. Off to the side of this whole elaborate affair there was a small crew of reporters taking pictures and filming for news media Outlets.

Grazia walked down the airstair, briefly waving at the reporters that were assembled to one side, while keeping a good eye on the steps, to avoid falling down. That had never happened to her, but people always talked of that one councillor years ago. Those were just rumours, urban legends passed down from Council to Council. Yet she always heeded the advice and paid attention to where she stood. Once on solid ground, she shook hands with the Admiral, quickly glancing at all the medals and ribbons on her uniform.

"Thank you for this most kind welcome" turning the her side, she gestured at the people who had just finished going down the airstair. "May I present Mario Ciampi, Assistant Councillor for Eastern Continent Affairs and Roberta Poletti, Assistant Councillor for International Trade."

She approached the other delegates to shake hands with them, always showing a small but warm smile, the trademark sign of a Sartorian diplomat. Having finally landed, she hoped the visit would be fruitful.

She asked motioning towards the car but was going to take the group the main terminal building to catch an executive Line train back to the commission building
