Kauzka-Procellia meeting [IC]

'Is it part of your culture to build large and beautiful buildings?' Sasaufe admired 'the Sanctuarum Palace is nothing compared to this, your need to give my architects a building lesson' She added and continued to study the castle as they drove.

Just ignore this post because for some reason if I delete it it will delete the one above as well and vice versa, I think there's something wrong with the forum.

With a smile the Dras replied "My nation has long viewed buildings to be a sign of unity. The act of building has acted as a uniting force for generations, and frequently all classes of society take part. Now we build more or less to keep the unemployment rate down, but yes architecture is a staple of our culture. I believe we were once called 'The Empire of the Stoneworker' in an age long ago"

The Dras paused as they stopped in front of the castle gates, and helped his guest out of the car before continuing "Perhaps we can negotiate for my nation to build you some marvels? As you've seen there is no match for a Procellia Mason anywhere else on the planet, and I'm certain our architects would jump at the chance to study foreign architecture."

He held the door open for her, so she could enter the foyer. His face filled with pride.

'Yes that would be great, it would offer my architects to be taught by some professionals, not saying they're bad but you are only as smart as what you've learned, so it would give them a good change to learn with some fantastic architects' she walked with the Dras and looked around the inside of the castle, which she thought was just as good as the outside. She looked up at the Dras's face and saw how much he was enjoying her praise. She was glad of this, she had originally come to deceive him and gain his trust, but she had come to really like him and thought he would be a better ally than enemy. Besides the priestesses words had kind of scared her and she didn't want karma to go against her. So she continued to walk by the Dras, her slim body moving gracefully beside him.

The chambers and rooms of the castle were lavishly detailed with intricate carvings and patterns, but minimally furnished. Like many things during the socialist revolution the castle had come under fire politically and the royal family had been forced to turn over all of the historic art and furniture to the national museum, or risk losing their home.

Dras Ishay didn't mind the minimalist, somewhat modern decor though. He felt it served as a perfect accent for the castle it's self, like a white flower in the hair woman of great beauty. The large white couches were very comfortable, and the eclectic mix of furniture from around the empire made it feel like a microcosm of the nation.

"This my friend is where you shall be staying for your visit" he said opening the door to reveal the room inside.

Like the rest of the castle it had been decorated in a modern, yet classic style. But oddly enough it worked, as it allowed the ornate fire place and large windows overlooking the city to take center stage. Through the windows could be seen the great cathedral, and much of the old town, with its glittering blue canals.

"The bedroom will be to your right and the bathroom to the left." Ishay said as he showed her the room "Your guards have had rooms prepared in the military quarters with my men. Is this to your satisfaction?"

'Yes this is great, different from what I'm used to, but it'll be fun to have a change from the usual fur-everything' Sasaufe said with a smile. A steward of hers walked in with her suitcases, put them next to the bed in the bedroom and walked out again. 'Do you have many servants? Due to my views on that I prefer just to have just a few stewards as my servants and I pay them adequately but I was wondering about your views on that sort of thing, you know human rights regarding that' Sasaufe asked as she watched the steward leave to join the guards.

Ishay sat down on the couch and leaned back comfortably, enjoying the warmth of the fire.

"Not I'm the way that you do, no. My home is staffed solely by the Royal Guard, and they also do the maintenance. I pay them generously for their efforts, and treat them with respect."

He gestured at his own guards, standing beside Sasaufe's

"The Royal Guard are an elite unit, who have willingly left the military to serve as the personal military of the royal family. They protect us with their lives, and I would never dream to treat them as less than the national heros that they are. Although class does exist my friend, you will find that in Procellia even a king is not much higher than the lowest of men."

'Interesting, I myself am allowed some freedoms that the common man is not and although the wealth gaps are quite large, I try to reduce my spending to a minimum and as I said I only have a few stewards in my employment, and although my word is highly respected, most government decisions are evaluated by the Council, and then put to the public for a vote, this excludes minor things or decisions that doesn't affect them though' Sasaufe said in reply 'some luxuries I find I can't live without though'

"Honestly my position is not so different. As head of state my power lies in people's respect for my opinions, and of course as the chosen of the king of demons. I am fortunate that the royalist Party has the majority right now, since they are sworn to allow me to rule as the demons desire me to. But all it takes is the next election cycle for me to lose my power in government, at least most of it. I do have a few powers as the Dras they can't take away from me." Ishay said, making a vague gesture that indicated he wasn't about to go into specifics.

"But back to the business at hand, what particularly did you have in mind for my nation to build in your homeland? I should advise you that, in case you hadn't noticed, we Procellians are best at building things you want to stand for eternity."

'Well I was thinking, a great wonder, perhaps something to signal our alliance and friendship' Sasaufe suggested 'honestly it's up to your men how this will be accomplished but as long as it's something in Procellian style, perhaps with a hint of Kauzkan in there' Sasaufe added and sat down next to him.
